My goal and motivation is to prepare people for the expected physical demands so that they can perform them without injury. Preventive work is of primary importance to me, as avoiding injury—and thus time off from work or the team—is far more effective than treating existing damage, acute injuries, or post-surgical care. That said, if an injury has already occurred, the fundamental goal—and I have extensive experience in this area—is to facilitate a return to sports and work as quickly as possible, at a pace that is much faster than average.
A distinction must be made between the general population and those who make their living through sports, physical exertion, and other forms of physical strain. The emphasis, of course, is on prevention. Teaching body awareness, developing the ability to exercise control, and—I would emphasize this—proprioception are the foundation for avoiding injuries or ensuring rapid rehabilitation. As a competitive athlete (field hockey, multiple Hungarian champion), I have learned humility in the face of physical, emotional, and mental strain. I intend to apply the lessons learned from the past 30 years to the future of my work and profession.
