She received her medical degree from Semmelweis University in 1989. She qualified as a surgeon in 1994.
She trained in plastic surgery at the Department of Head and Neck, Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgery of the National Institute of Oncology, at the Virányos Clinic and at the Department of Cervicoplasty of the State Medical Centre. She completed courses in microsurgery at the National Institute of Trauma Hand Surgery in Pécs and at the Institute of Experimental Surgery in Debrecen.
Job experience
From October 1991 she became a clinical physician at the Department of Surgery I of Semmelweis University, and then a university assistant professor until 2005. She was involved in teaching students and in postgraduate training. Her research interests include the management of complications of liver diseases, including experimental organ transplantation; she has been a member of the transplant team since her medical training. At the National Institute of Surgery, which is a centre for gastroenterology, she learned endoscopy and ultrasound in addition to surgery, and has had the opportunity to perform numerous UH-guided interventions. She has also gained expertise in laparoscopic surgery.
She has participated in national and international conferences (Genova, Basel, Budapest, Pécs, Győr, etc.) as a lecturer and student. She has been first or co-author of several publications.
