My areas of scientific interest are perinatology and gynecologic oncology; within the latter, I am particularly interested in Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection, which is prevalent among young women.

Later when I was already the chief physician of the Gynecology Department at the National Institute of Oncology, I spent a month in New York at the world’s oldest and one of the leading cancer centers in the U.S. (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center).(2014)
I have been on study trips to the United States on several occasions; as a young doctor, I spent 18 months in Indianapolis.(1994-95)
