My philosophy is this: “Patients visit the gastroenterology clinic with a variety of complaints or pre-existing diagnoses. Bloating and constipation are common symptoms; conditions such as reflux, metabolic disorders, food intolerances, and disorders related to lactose or gluten are also not uncommon. With a comprehensive examination and modern treatment, a patient can live to be 100 years old. However, as a gastroenterologist, surgeon, and oncologist, I also look for subtle signs of tumor development during these examinations. Cancer can be fatal for a patient, but if I detect and diagnose it early—before it has even caused any symptoms—then modern medical care offers a much greater chance of recovery. Careful and expert diagnostics illuminate the shortest path to recovery.”
