Although I am a surgeon, I only recommend surgical intervention in justified cases, and I follow the protocols and recommendations used in the UK. I believe in patient-centred healthcare, where everything should be done for the patient, in the patient's best interests.
I was head of the orthopaedic department in Manchester, and in Cirencester, I was the senior surgeon in the day unit. I performed all the other surgical procedures apart from the total joint replacement surgery in an actual day surgery.
