During my university years, I decided to pursue surgery, which was not a direct path: I started as a pathologist and paramedic, and after two years I got a surgical position at the Transplant Clinic of Semmelweis University, where I worked for 18 years. Several extended stays abroad gave me the opportunity to learn about professional practice in other countries. Within surgery, I gradually turned to minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery, the surgical technique closest to my heart, as patients recover very quickly after highly technical, minimally invasive operations, with full rehabilitation in 1-2 weeks.
