Job experience
In 2009 I worked as a paediatric gastroenterologist at Birmingham Children's Hospital, and from 2010 to August 2020 I was a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at the Royal Belfast Hospital For Sick Children, and from 2012 as a head of department. During this period I was actively involved in the pre- and postgraduate training of medical students, residents and trainees.During my work I managed a tertiary gastroenterology centre, including outpatient and inpatient paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, as well as endoscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and ileo-colonoscopy). I have also worked in close collaboration with other paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology centres within the UK.
Since October 2020 I have been working again at Heim Pál Children's Hospital as a paediatric gastroenterologist. My main field of interest within paediatric gastroenterology is the diagnosis and treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases in children.
