An overview of the oral cavity, examination of the pharyngeal formations with a tongue depressor, examination of the tonsils and their expression, and examination of the pharynx (epipharynx).
The larynx is only examined after prior information, because this examination requires the patient's cooperation. If this is not successful, the examination will be attempted again under local anaesthesia. The pharynx (epipharynx) is examined in the same way.
